Oxford Interview

So relieved to find out today that I've been invited for interview at Oxford! I'd completely lost the will to live but now I feel perky and alive ... Time to start revising the long list of books I said I'd read *facepalm*

Friday 3 August 2012

So I started reading 50 Shades of Grey...

So I've been away at the Lake District since Monday and, as predicted, it has been utterly boring. To try and make my trip a bit more interesting, I brought 50 Shades of Grey along with me to add a bit of spice. I'm not really sure what I expected but ... it's saucy shit.

So anyways, I thought I'd share my favourite quotes so far, because, worryingly, Anastasia Steele and I seem to have similar feelings.

'I am crying over the loss of something I never had. How ridiculous. Mourning something that never was - my dashed hopes, my dashed dreams, and my soured expectations.'

'He's the only man who has ever set the blood racing through my body. Yet he's so antagonizing too; he's difficult, complicated and confusing.'

More later!

Heart on Fire

So I watched the film 'LOL' (see review here) yesterday starring Miley Cyrus, Demi Moore and Douglas Booth and I've been crazy fangirling ever since. What got me most was 'Douglas Booth''s singing voice, which I later found out was actually a voice over done by Jonathan Clay. I was so disappointed by this because Douglas Booth looked HOT singing and 'his' voice was amazing but oh well. Anyways, here's the song I've been going crazy over:

I spent AGES trying to find a good video to convert to mp3 or the full song to download but no luck. Then finally, I found it on itunes from Jonathan Clay's website, so if you want to download the full song it's here. It's an acoustic version which is more romantic, but it doesn't put you in the 'feel-good' mood so I don't like it as much as the version that's in the movie, but hey, it's better than nothing.

New beginnings

I haven't blogged about my own life for AGES so we'll see how long I can keep this up. I'm not entirely sure what to say really... except hi! I've been blogging for about a year and a half now (you can find my main blog here), mostly film/television/book reviews, so check it out :) If you're wondering whether or not my name is actually Lorah - it's not, it's actually spelt Laura but the blog url was already taken ~outrage~ and people seem to have difficulty spelling and pronouncing my name despite it's simplicity, so Lorah it is.
